السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
21.
Is a number.
But in Malaysia, it is not JUST a number.
It is the age, where its citizens become eligible to vote...
Voting, is a right.
The question is, how many of us exercise that right? How many of us use that right?
Besides being a right, it is also an amanah (امانه).
To a muslim, amanah carries a huge responsibility. The word amanah itself 'feels' like a big responsibility to shoulder.
The amanah of a student. To learn and master the knowledge in our respective fields, so that later, it is with THAT knowledge we can together rebuild the ummah.
The amanah of a son or daughter. To respect and fulfill the wishes of parents, who only want the best for us in this world and the hereafter (akhirat).
The amanah of a voter. To vote, which extends the meaning of CHOOSING the just and trustworthy leader, who we feel is the best to lead this peaceful and prosperous nation (alhamdulillah).
Hence, in playing a small part in this big picture of amanah, SPR with collaboration of IIUM Kuantan campus is happy to be organizing a new voters' registration in conjunction with IKOD10.
SPR will be setting up a booth at the exhibition area at the Lobby, Kulliyyah of Medicine, from 9am - 5pm beginning 8th - 10th October 2010.
Come along 21 year olds, and those who are older and have yet to register as voters! Grab this opportunity as the registration centre is coming to you this weekend!
